Sunday Western Rite liturgies in Nottingham

Liturgies will be celebrated at Redhill Cemetery Chapel, Arnold, Nottingham on the following Sundays:-

  • 2nd August (Trinity 7)
  • 6th September (Trinity 12 / St. Barnabas)
  • 20th September (Trinity 14)
  • 4th October ((Trinity 16 / St. Matthew)
  • 18th October (Trinity 18)
  • 1st November ((Trinity 20 / St. John of Kronstadt)
  • 22nd November (Trinity 23)
  • 6th December (Trinity 25)
  • 20th December (Advent 2)

Please contact Father Thomas if you would like to attend. A risk assessment has been carried out and guidelines will be sent out beforehand.

The chapel is just a short walk from the entrance of the cemetery. If you’re planning to come by car, the Cemetery Chapel is clearly visible from Mansfield Road (A60). Parking isn’t alowed in the cemetery grounds, but there is a free municipal car park directly opposite the entrance to the cemetery, linked by a pedestrian crossing.

Confessions are heard before the start of the liturgy.

Lockdown Update

We have had to suspend all public liturgies since April, but will resume our normal services as soon as we can. In the meantime, please contact Father Thomas if you would like to join for the weekly online Matins service.

Western Rite Orthodox Liturgy – Isleworth – 22nd March 2020

We’ll be celebrating the third Sunday of Lent on Sunday 22nd March 2020 at Saint Mary the Virgin, Worton Road, Isleworth, Middlesex, TW7 6ED, starting at 11 a.m.  Saint Mary the Virgin church is close to Hounslow East on the Piccadilly line and Isleworth train station. Street parking is also available.

A Western Rite Orthodox Liturgy will be celebrated in Nottingham at Redhill Cemetery Chapel, Arnold on Sunday 1st March 2020 (Quinquagesima), beginning at 9.30 a.m.

Saint Irenaeus House of Orthodox Studies

Saint Irenaeus House of Orthodox Studies ( SIHOS) is an educational outreach of the ROCOR WR Communities. It will be a separate corporate entity and is expected to be self- funding.  Contributions are always appreciated.  Classes start January 13. This program is open to any Clergy or laity seeking a deeper ( or refresher) understanding of Orthodox theology. The first course is 8 weeks and is an Orthodox Introduction to the Old Testament.  The text for the course is less than $20. Subsequent modules include: Orthodox Survey of the New Testament, Church History/ The Seven Ecumenical Councils, Orthodox Dogmatic Theology. Application fees are $35. Course fees are $55 a month. It is an excellent program.
